Methods of improving initial adhesion

In the adhesive properties of pressure sensitive adhesives, the characterization of the initial adhesion force should not be considered as the key point. However, from the feedback of market information, there are many users who think that the initial adhesion (feel) is not good, which means that the quality is not good. At the same time, it is emphasized that the characterization of initial adhesion force should be adjusted according to the requirements of "adhesion surface conditions" and "service environment", especially for the application requirements of rough surface, low temperature adhesion (quick adhesion) or antifreeze and cold resistant pressure sensitive adhesive. There are basically two ways to improve the initial adhesion, one is to control the drying conditions, the other is to adjust the formula. In the initial drying process, the adhesive force will increase in the initial drying temperature. If the temperature control setting is to adopt the highest temperature condition within the temperature range of each zone for drying, good initial adhesion can also be obtained. However, it must be remembered that the coating speed must be increased step by step at the same time. This drying method is relatively ideal and is also the coating drying technology required by many special tapes and high temperature resistant series of tape products.
